Tojo Historical Park

This is the residence of Tokugawa Akitake, who was the last lord of Mito Domain and a real brother of Tokugawa Yoshinobu, the last shogun of the Edo Shogunate.
The residence, where Akitake lived from 1884, was designated as a national important cultural asset in 2006, because it would be an indicator of the residences of beautiful people in the early Meiji period.
The half-Japanese, half-Western garden has also been designated as a place of scenic beauty in Chiba, giving us various looks with plum, cherry, and wisterina blossoms, as well as autumn leaves, in respective seasons.
